Welcome To Because She Dared

I'm so happy + grateful that you've found your way to my little corner of the interwebz. You probably saw my post on Facebook or Instagram and decided to check out what this labor of love project is all about, and for that I'm incredibly grateful for. 

Because She Dared is a project that will encompass a few different things. First off, I do NOT consider myself a blogger but I feel this will be the easiest and most central way for you to follow along. 

Besides this blog, Because She Dared will also be a podcast with the same name. This is what I'm most excited about! Sharing stories of a faith that I've wrestled a lifetime with, sharing stories from other women of faith, and giving you a brand new lens to see women in the Bible through. 

Because She Dared was inspired after studying the Gospel of Mark (which is my favorite gospel) and seeing five nameless women in a new light. Seeing how Jesus showed compassion, humility, and love for women that we don't even have a name for brought me to tears multiple times. 

It's a labor of love because I've spent the majority of my adult life wrestling with the Bible. I love scripture, but I'm no stranger to challenging what I've read. I've wrestled with how to read the Bible in our 21st modern century world. I've wrestled with having enough faith. I've wrestled with it all. 

And maybe you've wrestled too? Maybe you're like me, you love scripture, you love Jesus, and you're on the verge of walking away from religion and looking for ANY reason to keep going. 

My hope + prayer is that my wrestling gives you permission to wrestle as well. 

My belief is that Christianity is struggling to find community right now. We are struggling to find ANY common ground. We need each other now more than ever. 

I'm carving out space for the wrestlers, the doubters, the challengers, the women who crave more of Jesus. The outsiders of their faith. You are beloved.

...for she thought to herself, "If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed." 

If I just dare reach out.

If I just dare believe for one more day.

If I just dare to have faith.

If I just dare to go deeper. 

Jesus is faithful, my sister. He is waiting. 

Because our faithful sisters dared to have faith, we can too. 

Because She Dared is for me, it's for you, it's for all of us.
